Flesh leads to fall

Here is a small story which can better explain the relationship between the flesh and the fall. Once in a village there were many dog puppies. And it came to be that one of the puppies had grown out to be tall & gigantic and became dominating the others in the territory. There was a forest at the end of the village and was inhabitated with deers & rabbits.

One day, a little rabbit in search of feeding grounds enter into the village. And it was instantly spotted by the dogs and was chasing the rabbit. All of a sudden, the gigantic dog stopped all other dogs from chasing saying that he was the only one fit to chase the rabbit. So, all other dogs stayed behind out of fear.

The gigantic dog began chasing the rabbit and the rabbit was running headlong and saw a large pit some distance ahead and a hill beyond it. He wanted to jump off the pit and escape into the hills.  As the rabbit approached the pit, with no thought he jumped across the pit and was at the other end of the pit. The dog was running after him at a high speed and as he approached the pit he took off to jump the pit but he couldn’t and alas he fell deep down into the pit.

The little rabbit that saw this took a turn back to the edges of the pit to see what happened to the dog.  Alas, he saw the poor gigantic fellow was bleeding all over with his legs broken.

The rabbit then slowly came down to the pit and asked the dog for any help to be done. The dog took his breath and told the rabbit that he wanted to know one truth in spite of his ailing condition and asked the rabbit that being so small, how you did that. The rabbit gently replied, “I run for to save my life and spirit and that you run for your meal.”

The “meal” here stands for the desires of the flesh. The beginning of the flesh comes from the dust when God created Adam. Dust symbolizes for insignificance & earthly.
The mind governed by the flesh is hostile to God. It does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so. Those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please God.

So, if we give importance to our body (flesh), relationships are bound to break. Adam & Eve gave importance to their flesh and tasted the forbidden fruit which not only separated them from God but brought about the fall of the entire mankind.

Our God is not a dictator and He never dictates anything to anyone. But He gives us the freedom to choose.

Friends, lets us self examine ourselves. We may be thirty, forty, fifty or sixty. But in all through these years what we have been chasing after?
