Wayne Hudson gives the following illustration in "Many A Tear Has To Fall."
A certain young man left his hometown with high hopes of earning a fortune. In eight years he succeeded in building a farm with a farm house in about 300 acres of land.
He raised wheat, corn, and vegetables. Having accomplished his dream he thought it was time for him to get married.
He raised wheat, corn, and vegetables. Having accomplished his dream he thought it was time for him to get married.
So he advertised in a newspaper “Wanted: A good woman willing to be a pen pal. Marriage is a possibility for the right woman.”
Before long, he began receiving letters from a girl named Elzie. Soon they liked each other and continued their correspondence. Their interaction through correspondence soon blossomed into love for each other.
At last they decided to meet in person and propose to each other. This young man stood waiting for the train to arrive. When the train arrived, many young women were alighting. Suddenly, he yelled, “Elzie — over here!”
A young girl looked his way, walked over to him, smiled and held out her hand. She asked, “How did you know that I was Elzie?”
He then reached into his pockets and pulled out some letters and said, “From these letters of yours.” Surprised she said, “But there are no pictures of mine in them?” He smiled and said, “Oh yes there are! There are lots of pictures in your words.” Yes, he had spent hours reading every word in her letters - looking for every little clue to find out who Elzie really was. He had found her from her words.
Dear friends, our Heavenly Father too has written a love letter to us. He has drawn His portrait in the BIBLE – HIS LOVE LETTER!
If we read it carefully we will find His portrait in His Word, and we will surely love with all our heart our heavenly Bridegroom.
Let us not neglect. Let us not despise. Let us give utmost attention to read every single word from the Book of Love, and wait eagerly to meet our Bridegroom! Then, when we meet Him face to face in heaven we will surely know that we know Him!
Would you devote more time to read the passionate love letter He has written for you and reread the same to know more about Him that you may love Him more?
