HOW DO WE TREAT THE CHURCH ???

A preacher asked a certain man why he had not been attending the services of the church for sometime.

The man replied, "They haven’t treated me right over there." The preacher said, "Then why don’t you go home and beat and kick your wife?"

The startled backslider gave the preacher a pathetic look and said, "My wife hasn’t done anything against me."

The preacher said, "Well then, has the Lord Jesus done anything against you?" "No" said the man.

The pastor continued, "Then what is the point in forsaking Christ when you have grudges only against fellow-believers?"

Ashamed at his behavior, the man decided to attend church regularly thereafter without finding false reasons to justify his action. He took an oath to keep his anger out of his mind, for the sake of Christ.

Dear friends, the Lord says in Matthews 25:40 that whatever we do to the brethren we have done unto Him. We should be doubly careful how we treat THE CHURCH, THE BODY OF BELIEVERS.

Also, today’s text also warns us that we may fall short of the grace of God, if we harbor bitterness against anyone - in the church or out of it. (Vs.15)

You may also be very angry with your fellow believers and as a reproach you may be shunning their fellowship.

But because of the anger you have on your fellow believers, neglecting thebody of Christ, the Church is unwarranted.

IT IS AS BEING ANGRY AT THE DOG AND KICKING THE CAT.
