HOW CAN YOU CHANGE THE WORLD AROUND YOU?

Here is a beautiful story illustrating on how to improve one to one relationship...

Once a king of an empire was suffering from a strange kind of illness. Nobody has cure for this illness. After a long search, the king finally found a physician who claimed that he could cure his disease. The remedy that he prescribed to the king seemed weird, but everyone decided to go by it –after all, it was their only hope.

The physician said, “The more the king sees the red color around him, the faster he recovers from his ailment.” Upon hearing this, the king ordered for all the places that he visited or passed by to be set up in such a way that he would see only red color, whatever he set his eyes upon.

People immediately got down to work. All the walls were painted red… the roads by which the king used to pass were decked with red curtains and carpets. The soldiers and guards changed into a red uiform. The king’s throne and the entire courtroom were turned into red.

The process of painting the town red was in full swing, so much so that skilled labor from outside the kingdom had to be hired to cope up with this workload. As every object in the kingdom was turning into red, the royal treasury was fast depleting. In and through this process, people were happy to see the king recovering from his illness. Looking at the positive results, all the houses around the palace were ordered to be painted red. Red was reigning, but the royal treasury was draining!

Looking at all the flurry, a small boy in the neighborhood was baffled. He went straight to the courtroom and asked the king, “What are you doing! Why are you spending so much of money?” People were taken aback and feared for the child. The chief of the ministers rose to his feet and shouted at the child, “How dare you? Who are you to ask this question? The king’s health is more important than the wealth. You probably do not wish for the speedy recovery of the king. Looking at your teeny age we are letting you go, otherwise any other person would have been arrested for this misconduct.”

The child calmly replied, “I too wish that the king should recover quickly, but I do not approve of these methods. If you give me a chance to speak, I have a solution that is not expensive.

“Get out of here!” the minister retorted angrily. “What solution can you have that wise experts and physicians cannot think of? Go away or else you will be jailed.” The child started to leave when the king stopped him and said, “Everyone in this courtroom is equal and should be given fair chance though the probability of you having a solution is very less, I shall still give you a chance. Say what you have to say.”

“Thank You, You Highness!” the child responded politely. “I had only heard of you before, but I have got the opportunity to see you. It is probably due to this way of dealing with matters that people respect you so! No wonder everybody is working hard for your recovery. But I have a solution that will cure your illness at a negligible cost.” Having said this, the child handed over a pair of spectacles with red-colored glasses to the king. The courtroom stood up and applauded.

“I bought them in a trade fair,” said the child. With these on, everything you see will appear to be red in color. You will recover in quick time and also save a lot of money.” People were amazed at the child’s intelligence.

We also looked through colored glasses. It is but natural that whatever color glasses we wear, the world appears to be of the same color to us. Likewise, what we perceive within our mind, determines the way we feel about the world around us. If we look at a person with yellow glasses, he will appear to be yellow, if seen through black glasses; he will appear to be black.

On many occasions, we set out to change the world, much like the king in the story. We set out to change other people. We focus on their mistakes, the seemingly bad in others but in reality we fail to recognize that the things that we feel bad about in others are infact lies within us. If we could change our spectacles, our entire world will change at once.

Now it is up to us to decide the color of glasses that we want to wear on our mind. The best thing to do is to put on any glasses at all, be open-minded. If at all glasses have to be put on, use colorless, transparent glasses so that you see everything as it actually is, without any prejudices.

It is obvious different people will evoke different thoughts in our mind. Therefore, before forming an opinion about any person, ask yourself whether the person is really like what you think of him to be and whether others too think likewise about him….or is it only your imagination?

Once you ask this question in your mind, it will at once dispel all the pain, discomfort and anxiety caused by the irritational behavior of the person you feel not comfortable to live with or work with or communicate with or stay with and so on.

You will then adopt a fresh outlook when you meet any person and thus improve your relationships, instead of continuing with preconceived notions about that person. If only you can change your outlook, thoughts and DARK SPECTACLES, the whole world will change for you at once, right in front of you.

Dear Friends, let’s take a resolve to throw away the dark glasses we used to wear and use only the colorless and transparent glasses, if at all we want to use one and see the world become brighter, lighter, beautiful & meaningful around us.
