Can
adversity be a blessing in disguise?
It
may be yes or no depends on how one respond to it. Yes it requires great
strength of character and vision to overcome adversities and find the divine
grace that lies beyond. It’s the overcoming of the obstacles in our lives that
builds character in us. That’s why God doesn’t make our lives a cake walk, even
though He could.
It is when we’re going through adversity that our
own weakness is revealed. Our adversity brings out God’s best work in us.
Friend, are you going through bouts of hardship,
addiction, depression, repeated hospitalization or abusive relationship…….For
when you are down to nothing God is up to something. Give your weakness today
to God so that He can make you stronger in Him.
Milton, the highly talented youth and well
learned in the classics had enormous faith in God. He had a noble ambition to
create in the English language a great epic. He wasn’t sure as to what the
subject of the epic would be. But he was determined to write an epic. He
believed that he was born to do so.
Even as he was exploring possible subjects in his
mind, Milton lost his sight and became visually impaired. This was not only a
great personal loss but also raised questions in his mind whether he would be
able to fulfill his ambition of writing a great epic.
With all his talent turned useless
because of his blindness, he faced God empty handed. He realized the importance
of surrendering to God’s will.
The fact that Milton could successfully write his
immortal epic PARADISE LOST despite his handicap confirms the truth that with
God’s grace the challenged can cross mountains, the mute can sing, and the
blind see.
So adversity CAN, then, be a blessing in
disguise.
Wishing you peace and serenity,
Remember God loves you and so do I,
Daniel
