WHO I AM MAKES A DIFFERENCE !!!

A teacher decided to honor each of her students by telling them the difference they each made to her as well as to the whole class.

She presented each of them with a blue ribbon imprinted with golden letters which read, “Who I am makes a difference!” She gave each of the students three more ribbons, instructed them to honor those they wished and come with a feedback within a week.

One of the boys in the class presented one of the ribbons to a junior executive. He handed over the other two also and asked him to present them to whom he wanted to honor.

The junior executive visited his boss, a very stern and serious man, and presented him with the blue ribbon and told him that he deeply admired him for being a creative genius. The boss seemed very surprised.

The executive gave him one more blue ribbon saying, “Would you take this extra blue ribbon and pass it on by honoring somebody else? The young boy, who first gave me the ribbons, is doing a project in his school and he wants to know the feedback.”

That night the boss went home and told his 14 year old son, “An incredible thing happened to me today. A junior executive fixed this blue ribbon that says, “Who I am makes a difference!” on my jacket, above my heart!

He said, he admired me! He gave me an extra ribbon, asking me to honor someone and I thought you are the fit person.

Sometimes, when I come after my hectic schedule, I used to shout at you for various reasons. But, I want to tell you tonight, that you are a great kid and you do make a lot of difference to me. I love you!”

The startled boy, began to cry and said amidst his sobs, “Dad, I was about to commit suicide tomorrow, because I thought you never loved me.”

Dear friends, Let us not be self-centered, but let us show our love in action. Let us learn to respect and honor those who are involved with us either directly or indirectly. Let us openly show our love for them by our deeds and words.

By doing so, we will unknowingly produce a great and positive effect in our community.
