TRUST ON HIS UNFAILING LOVE ???

In 1992, when working in his office, a newspaper reporter received a call.

One man named James said that he was about to commit suicide and that he is sending his story to the newspaper.

Alarmed, the reporter tried to trace the call and save this man. But, when he arrived with the police, they found that the young man had already shot himself with a bullet.

In his shirt pocket, they found a wrinkled and faded paper with a crayon drawing on it, with his child’s signature at the bottom. At the back of the paper James had written a note saying, “Please leave this in my pocket. I want to have it buried with me.”

His five year old daughter was killed in a fire accident five months earlier. He had lost his wife when his daughter was 2 years old. He was totally shell shocked and depressed. He could not handle the despair, and so he took his life.

When I read about this pathetic incident, it made me think as to why he should take away his life. Why did he not handle the situation in any other way?

I could find only one answer - HE DID NOT HAVE ANY HOPE! The reason might be that He did not have Christ – the Hope-Giver - in his life.

Dear friends, have you lost something or someone in your life? Have you lost your health? Have you lost your fortune? Are you in deep trouble? Do you think that there is no point in living anymore? Come to the place of hope – the foot of the cross!

Put your trust on Christ’s unfailing love. Let God take over. He will help you to handle the situation.
