WHY WALK WHEN YOU CAN FLY !

Once there was a king who received a gift of two magnificent falcons from Arabia. They were peregrine falcons, the most beautiful birds he had ever seen. He gave the precious birds to his head falconer to be trained.

Months passed and one day the head falconer informed the king that though one of the falcons was flying majestically, soaring high in the sky, the other bird had not moved from its branch since the day it had arrived.

The king summoned healers and sorcerers from all the land to tend to the falcon, but no one could make the bird fly. He presented the task to the member of his court, but the next day, the king saw through the palace window that the bird had still not moved from its perch. Having tried everything else, the king thought to himself, "May be I need someone more familiar with the countryside to understand the nature of this problem." So he cried out to his court, "Go and get a farmer."

In the morning, the king was thrilled to see the falcon soaring high above the palace gardens. He said to his court, "Bring me the doer of this miracle."

The court quickly located the farmer, who came and stood before the king. The king asked him, "How did you make the falcon fly?"

With his head bowed, the farmer said to the king, “It was very easy, your highness. I simply cut the branch where the bird was sitting."

We are all made to fly -- to realize our incredible potential as human beings. But instead of doing that, we sit on our branches, clinging to the things that are familiar to us. The possibilities are endless, but for most of us, they remain undiscovered. We conform to the familiar, the Comfortable, the mundane. So for the most part, our lives are mediocre instead of exciting, thrilling and fulfilling. Let’s learn to destroy the branch of fear we cling to and free ourselves to the glory of flight.

God has given you the heart and wings of an eagle.  Your spirit was made to soar in freedom and joy. Unfortunately, negativity and limitations may weigh you down. Every negative thought weighs a psychological ton, and carrying a load of negativity is unbearable burden and will add lead (metal) to the wings. You cannot soar when you carry heavy burdens.

The trials of life may have exhausted your energy and desire to conquer. You needed to learn how to soar like that eagle. Just spread your spiritual wings and fly over your problem, could it be that simple?

Do you know, before the eagle launch into flight, it waits on the branches. It also, waits for the arrival of the wind. Once the eagle has flown to the clouds, its wings stop flapping and the bird of prey places itself upon the wind current and rest. Here is the answer to renewing your spiritual strength. The next time you enter a trail, remember the eagle wings and rest upon the strength of Jesus and His Holy Spirit to carry you above that trial.

The next time a trial enters your life become one of God’s little eagles and rest upon His strength. You can soar on the wind current higher and higher to new spiritual heights.

The Bible says, “They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength.  They shall mount up with wings as eagles.  They shall run and not be weary.  They shall walk and shall not faint.” Isaiah 40:31

During most of your life, you should be flying like an eagle.  Nevertheless, on some days, troubles will come, and conditions will not be favorable for soaring.  On those days, you will run and not be weary.  At other times, adversity will be great, and you will walk and will not faint.  That is the promise of God.

Hoping in the Lord is expecting that His promise of strength will help us to rise above life. The choice is yours.  You can sit in a perch with wings of lead, or you can shed your wings of lead and discover how good your life can become when you spread your wings and fly like an eagle.
